Swatching, Making Mud & All Things Colour!
EPISODE 81
Are muddy colours bad? What about colours that you squeeze straight out of the tube? And do you need to have a signature colour palette? These are just a few of the colour conundrums we are chatting about this week.
And wow, I have to say it brings up some interesting lines of thought. I didn’t realise I had such a thing against the colour wheel, but, apparently I do! I also question if my paintings are getting too matchy-matchy.
Plus, there’s a FREE video for you! Join me in my new studio as I swatch and chat about my 15 favourite Daniel Smith Watercolor Paints.
Here are the colour questions we answered this week:
To swatch or not to swatch?
Should you mix your own colours or can you use them straight out of the tube?
Is making mud really so bad?
I find colour theory boring. Is it essential?
Should my personal style (e.g., clothes or decor) mirror my paintings?
Do you need a signature colour palette for your artwork?
